Can I do whatever I want?

“Now the works of the flesh are evident; sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

  • Gal 5.19-21

I could, sure, but these are not to my benefit nor God’s glory. What else can I do?

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law.”

  • Gal 5.22-23

Listed among the fruits of the Spirit is one virtue every addict needs – self-control. It’s a gift given by a loving God to a helpless soul. Do you need it too? How do I get it?

“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep step with the Spirit.”

Ga 5.25

Go for it.
