Every demon you may ever encounter is subject to expulsion

“And he called the twelve together and he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom and to heal.”

  • Luke 9.1-2

“All demons” is explicit. It means every demon you may ever encounter is subject to expulsion. Some are expelled only by prayer, but go they must. But some teach this type of authority was only delegated to the apostles. If so, what to make of all the reports of Christians around the world, for millennia, exercising the power of Jesus expelling demons? Are these Christians all lying? Wherein lies the error? If only the twelve received this power, them we have no need or responsibility to proclaim the kingdom or heal, comforting to the fearful and doubtful. Might as well wrap your talent in a napkin. Judge for yourself that which is correct.
